ALABAMA! We're comin' for ya...
We're all sorts of excited to announce that beginning this March you'll now be able to find our off-centered ales across the entire state of Alabama!
“We’re thrilled about launching into Alabama in 2017,” says Dogfish Head founder and CEO Sam Calagione. “The craft beer scene is taking off in the southeast and there are a ton of beer lovers throughout the state. We have our new canning line pumping out beer and enough brewing capacity to ensure we can keep retailers well stocked with our off-centered, well-differentiated family of beers and are ecstatic that Dogfish Head fans hailing from Alabama can finally enjoy their favorite brews in their home state.”
We’ve worked hard in 2016 to establish the ideal groundwork for a successful, forward-looking expansion plan to Alabama and beyond, and we’ve tripled the size of our sales team to assist us in growing and supporting our current footprint.
The Delaware craft brewer partnered with Gulf Distributing, Supreme Beverage Company and Premium Beverage to distribute Dogfish Head’s full portfolio of goodness throughout the Yellowhammer State. Additionally, the brewery announced it will expand into at least three new states in the coming year, bringing Dogfish Head’s total beer market availability to 35 states and Washington D.C.
Dogfish fans in the Heart of Dixie can expect to enjoy a full line-up of our iconic brews, including 90 Minute IPA, Namaste White, Indian Brown, 60 Minute IPA, SeaQuench Ale, Flesh & Blood IPA, Palo Santo Marron, Burton Baton, Midas Touch, and seasonal releases. Limited quantities of specialty beers and occasional rarities will also be available throughout the year.
In addition to our arrival in Alabama, we’re also planning to expand into at least two additional new markets in the coming year - Missouri and West Virginia - bringing Dogfish Head’s total beer market availability to 35 states and Washington D.C.
Already thinking about Yellowhammer State favorites to pair with our off-centered ales? Us too!
- Fan-favorite 60 Minute IPA, the continually-hopped India pale ale, pairs perfectly with delicious, Fried Green Tomatoes, as the citrusy, piney hops present a nice contrasting flavor to this traditionally bacon, fat-fried snack.
- Namaste White, a Belgian-style white ale, is cozy complement to yummy Banana Pudding as the spicy clove and peppercorn phenolics are a natural match for banana, while the crisp lemongrass provides a refreshing finish.
- Lastly, the lime and salt components of SeaQuench Ale, a session sour quencher, makes it a perfect, refreshing match for Alabama’s finest succulent shrimp and fresh fish.
