Big thanks to our 2015 seasonal artist, Rich Kelly!
As the year is winding down, we wanted to take a moment to thank our 2015 seasonal artist, Rich Kelly!
Rich, who lives in Pittsburgh, has worked on pieces for Phish, Primus, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Keys and now, Dogfish Head. He created fresh artwork for each of our seasonals this year - Aprihop, Festina Peche, Punkin Ale and Piercing Pils. Not only did you see the artwork on the actual bottles of beer, it also appeared on the front of T-shirts, posters and even coasters.
Using his combination of storytelling and imagery, Rich brought our liquid versions of spring, summer, fall and winter to life outside of the bottle. We've had a blast working with him and we’ve loved watching each piece of fresh artwork roll off the bottling line at the beginning of every season.
For more information on Rich Kelly and his work, you can check out our in-depth interview with him here.
For a glimpse into the evolution of a beer label, you can check out Rich’s take on the making of the Aprihop artwork here.
We’re not quite ready to announce our seasonal artist for 2016, but we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop! For now, we’re just going to sit back and crack open a Piercing Pils - our winter seasonal and final 2015 label. Cheers.
