Tonight we unveil the top three winners of our short film competition and we all watch the 18 best of the bunch … over many beers. We’ll also be playing around with Randall Jr. and revealing the OCFF Audience Award winner – we thanks all of your who took the time to view some of the selections and give ‘em the old thumbs up!  

Thursday night was the kick-off event for the three day Off-centered Film Fest Dogfish co-hosted with our friends at Alamo Drafthouse. We started it all off with an outdoor quote-along screening of ‘Blazing Saddles.’  It was fantastic! The Thursday event was also a fundraiser for the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, and we invited many of the members to pour their beers at the event. I got to try a bunch of them, but sadly not all of them.

We raised almost $1000 dollars for the Guild at a pie throwing contest. I still have whipped cream compressed into my ear.  

And you forget what an awesome movie ‘Blazing Saddles’ is until you see in on a big screen with about 5 stouts in you.

Last night’s festivities included a five-course beer feast featuring a lot of the harder to find Dogfish brews. Then David Wain, Ken Marino, and Joe Lo LoTruglio co-hosted a screening of the super funny online series Wainy Days. Needless to say, we had a lot of laughs.

Thanks to everyone here for making us feel so darn welcome. The Alamo Drafthouse team and all the Texas craft brewers have made us feel right at home. In fact, in a way, I feel like Dogfish and Austin must have been separated at birth.
