We’re giving $30,000 to Sussex arts nonprofits. Want some?
Here at Dogfish, we consider the beer we brew a form of art, and we love to work alongside and support other original artists. From our label designs to our music collaborations to the live bands every weekend at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub, the arts are in Dogfish Head’s DNA.
So, for this year’s annual Beer & Benevolence holiday gift awards, we’re giving $30,000 to Sussex nonprofits that support the arts.
“Art is an essential component to good living," says Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione. “And we’re proud to support the people who are making Sussex a better place to live and work.”
If you’re a Sussex County nonprofit that works to foster the arts, we have a challenge for you: Tell us your mission and how you do what you do, and we just might give you a few thousand to work with.
We’ll be giving out three awards: a top award of $20,000 and two more for $5,000 each.
“We’ve enjoyed tremendous support here in Sussex,” says Mark Carter, Dogfish Head's Beer & Benevolence guru. “We’re happy to return the good karma.”
Here’s how to get in on it:
* Must be a nonprofit in Sussex County, Delaware.
* Must provide an executive summary that includes your mission, organizational structure, budget outline and impact of work.
* Must provide one of the following: a two-minute (or less) video that explains how your nonprofit fulfills its mission OR a 10-minute in-person presentation to the Beer & Benevolence team here at our Milton brewery. Please email mark@dogfish.com with your preferred presentation method by Nov. 20. We’ll schedule presentations for early December, prior to Dec. 11.
Video entries are due by Nov. 30.
The nonprofits that fit the criteria and wow us with their submissions will be chosen. Winners will be notified no later than Dec. 16.
Good luck, and thanks for all you do to make Sussex a better place!
* Please share with other arts nonprofits that you may know doing awesome work in Sussex County.
