We support the #StopHateForProfit movement
There has been a growing call for advertisers to pull all paid advertising from Facebook and Instagram for the month of July. The movement - called #StopHateforProfit - is meant to encourage these platforms to do more to fight hateful content.
As part of the Boston Beer family, we're standing in solidarity with our partners at the NAACP and other advertisers, and have joined the #StopHateForProfit movement. This means that we have suspended all paid media support on Facebook and Instagram for July.
We're committed to making changes that contribute to an inclusive and anti-racist community, one where our co-workers, business partners and drinkers feel safe, respected and valued. Real change requires us to continue to examine our current practices, and acknowledge we can do better - and then create actionable solutions.
We hope this step will influence positive, necessary and lasting change. It is a reflection of our continued commitment to equality and to stand alongside the Black community not only during this national time of re-examination, but always.
While we strive to foster an environment free of hate, we acknowledge that there is much more work to be done. This is one small step and we will continue to make sure that actions we take and content we share with our communities is inclusive and supports the racial justice movement. Drinkers will still see unpaid posts on our channels in July so that we can answer questions and share information with our guests.
