Beach Brunch
This weekend was the annual Celebrity Chefs Beach Brunch - one of the best of many great annual fall events that happen here in coastal Delaware.
In addition to being a great fundraiser for Meals Oh Wheels, the Brunch is a local’s favorite - celebrating the vibrant culinary and agricultural communities we have at our doorsteps in this part of the world.
To celebrate this locavore theme at our table we served Chicory Stout (brewed with locally roasted Coffee from the Notting Hill Coffee in Lewes), Saison du BUFF (brewed with fresh parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme from our pals at Washington’s Green Grocer, and a tasty punch made from our Delaware Native Ale Spirit (we distilled this from 100-percent locally sourced ingredients: honey from Smyrna, blueberries and yeast from Fifer Farm, hops from our co-worker Chad's back yard and barley from our pals in the Agriculture Department at the University of Delaware.
There were waaaay too many amazing dishes prepared by world class local chefs on site at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. Too many to name, but I will let one picture say a thousand words: Abbott Grill's Local Buffalo Hash topped with a quails egg and a coffee-cup worth of Chicory Stout.
