Pick your poison: Vintage ales vs. off-centered cocktails
Tough call at our Rehoboth Beach brewpub these days. Besides the 20-plus off-centered ales on tap, there's a trio of vintage ales from Sam's personal stash and a lineup of refreshing summer cocktails made with our hand-bottled spirits.
With a few years under their caps, the vintage ales have grown in complexity. From 2008, we have hop-lover's grail 120 Minute IPA, and from 2009 we have strong-fruit favorites Red & White and Fort.
Each of these vintage gems is served from a 12-oz or 750-ml bottle into a snifter and makes the perfect end to a meal or a great accompaniment to your dessert.
But if you're not in the mood for beer, never fear. We have a handful of drink specials featuring local produce and our small-batch spirits.
- The Gallagher We smashed together watermelons from Fifer Orchards, pub-grown basil, lemon, Sprite and our Watermelon Vodka.
- Big Bamboozle Coconut and Darkside Rums with Fifer sour cherry juice and pineapple juice.
- Cucumber Cooler A martini with Fifer cucumbers, Jin and fresh lime juice.
- Darkside and Stormy Darkside Rum and homemade ginger beer with fresh ginger, lemongrass, fresh lime juice, lime zest and piloncillo.
- Peach Sangria Fifer peaches, White Light Rum, peach liqueur and white wine.
What else is going on at the pub in August?
For starters, every Monday and Friday we run one of our off-centered ales through a contraption called Randall the Enamel Animal. Randall is a double-chambered filter filled with flavor-enhancing ingredients. You might find 90 Minute IPA amplified with an extra dose of whole-leaf hops, Chicory Stout infused with vanilla beans or something totally wreckless like Midas Touch run through limes and mint. Midas-jito, anyone?
We also have rockin' live music every Friday and Saturday. Among the acts on tap are JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, Johnstone Reggae Band and Delaware favorite The Spinto Band. The shows start at 10 p.m., and as always, no cover!
See you at the pub!
