Off-Centered Film Fest goes west

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

Attention, off-centered filmmakers: Here's your shot at glory.

We're once again teaming up with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, Texas, to bring you the Off-Centered Film Fest, and we need your 5-minute films.

OCFF

The best entries will be screened April 19-21 in Austin, and the top three will earn more than $2,000 in cash and prizes. The winning director also gets two nights in Austin, tickets for two to all of the screenings and a $400 travel stipend.

Here's the lowdown. We're going with a Western theme this year, so show us your swindles, gunfights and gals with hearts of gold. Each submission must be 5 minutes or less and somehow feature Dogfish Head beer. Also, directors must be 21 or over.

Beyond that, anything goes. So, what are you waiting for? Shoot first, edit later.

Deadline for entries is March 5. Winners will be announced March 23. For more information, visit www.offcenteredfilmfest.com. Submissions can be made on the website starting Friday, Jan. 13.
