Delaware Governor Jack Markell signed legistlation supporting Delaware breweries at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery today.
The new bill increases the number of brew pubs that can be owned by a single company from two to three. Under current law, that same company also can own an interest in a microbrewery. Dogfish Head currently has a brewpub in downtown Rehoboth Beach and a microbrewery in Milton, Delaware. The bill also allows onsite consumption of beer made on the premises of a microbrewery, similar to onsite consumption allowed at Delaware wineries.
Dogfish may look to add onsite consumption at the Milton brewery sometime this fall.
