We Loved Savor 2009!
So, we had a great time at the Brewer's Association's Savor 2009. It's such a great event celebrating food and beer pairing. Although only in it's second year, the event draws quite a crowd (both 2008 and 2009 events were sell-outs, so get your 2010 tickets early!)!
One of the great things about Savor is either a brewer or brewery owner is actually pouring beers behind each brewery's table, so you really get to talk to the folks involved in making your favorite brews (Dogfish founder Sam Calagione and our rep Devin Arloski manned the Dogfish booth this year).
Each brewery pours two beers at their booth and each beer is paired with a specific food offering. This year, we served Indian Brown Ale (paired with amazing Ginger Cookies, the recipe was from Sam's sister Myka) and Burton Baton (paired with a nice stinky blue cheese).
In addition, attendees can go to 'salons' or mini-seminars throughout the evening. This year Sam spoke about Ancient Beers (check out our Midas Touch, Chateau Jiahu or Theobroma for more info).
And even though he had just 'officially' come into the Dogfish family as our graphic guru, our co-worker Dave Kammerdeiner shot this short video to let you savor a bit of Savor 09.
