Where there's smoke theres Wheat!
As spring begins to give in to summer and the days get longer, things are happening at the pub. This week is the beginning of restaurant week in Rehoboth. Local restaurants are serving three course menus for the price of either $20 or $30 each. At the pub in Rehoboth we are offering three choices of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Our menus are $20 for three courses and each entrée is paired with a beer selection to enhance the meal. The beer is included in the $20 price. Restaurant week runs until June 13, 2009. Come on down and check it out. Now what's all this about smoke and wheat? I just finished brewing a Dunkelweizen. This German wheat beer was brewed using wheat malt that was smoked over oak chips that we used to age our Brown Honey Rum. The brew is in the fermenter and will be ready in about 3 weeks. I am looking forward to the hints of banana and clove mixing with the sweet aroma of smoke and rum. We are still serving the Pale India Ale that features some interesting Indian spices. A truly unique treat that is only available here at the pub. Look for the release of Altar Boy, an abbey dubbel brewed by Wayne from our Milton facility. It was aged in oak barrels for a few weeks before being conditioned. This brew should be on tap by the weekend. Check out Sam's blog about our next pub brew on Thursday. Sam will brew with Leonardo of Birra del Borgo near Rome, Italy. This is an opportunity to get the word out about great craft beers being produced all over the world. It is a rare treat to host Leonardo and have him brew on our pub system. If that wasn't enough excitement Friday night marks the return of the Fleshtones to our stage. We have had some great music lately...Eric Lindell and Jaime McLean on Memorial Day weekend. Our stage was alive with Nothing but Trouble and the long awaited return of Nate Myers and the Aces last weekend. And now the Fleshtones on Friday night followed by local heroes Big Fat Slim and the Has Beens on Saturday. WOW!!!!
