Are you ready for Firefly 2016?!
We're music junkies here at Dogfish Head, and one of our favorite times of year is when the Firefly Music Festival rolls through our neck of the woods. As the official craft beer of Firefly we went ahead and brewed a special beer for the occasion…Firefly Ale!
An English-style pale ale brewed with Marris Otter barley and English heritage hops, Firefly Ale is a crisp and refreshing quencher that will see you through four days of music.
But, that’s not all we’re bringing to Firefly with us! If you stop by ‘The Brewery,’ there are a slew of happenings that you can expect.
At the bar
Beermosas
Friday through Sunday in the early afternoon. Grab a Festina Pêche or a Namaste and add a splash of OJ. It’ll get your day started off right!
Specialty Tappings
For three of the four days, we’ll be tapping special casks of limited-edition brews.
Friday at 4 p.m. - Bière de Provence
Saturday at 4 p.m. - Alternate Takes #1
Sunday at 4 p.m. - Alternate Takes #2
Growlers
We are selling 32 oz growlers (filled) for $20 each - your choice of Namaste, 60 Minute IPA, Festina Pêche or Firefly Ale! These are limtied (only about 700 of them), so make sure you hop to it!
Good times at 'The Brewery'
#AskDogfish
Got a question for us about beer, the brewery or even just life in general? We want to hear it! Our co-workers will be hanging out in the tent to chat all things Dogfish Head, so ask away!
We’ll also be filming a special edition of #AskDogfish. Feel free to share your question on camera or write it down, and founder and president Sam Calagione will answer it later during the festival. The video will be released on Tuesday, June 21 on our social channels.
Speaker Series
Thursday through Saturday we will be hosting artist interviews on the stage in our tent!
Thursday - time TBD - Arkells
Friday - 5:30 p.m. - Pell
Friday - 6:30 p.m. - Boy & Bear
Saturday - 9:30 p.m. - Son Little
Lawn Games
We will have bocce, yard pong and cornhole going on outside of the tent! Plenty to keep you entertained in-between your favorite acts.
Yard Pong - who's got next?!
The Delaware Chapter of The Nature Conservancy
You’ll also find our friends from The Nature Conservancy hanging out with us! Stop by, say hello and learn all about the awesome work they do.
The Nature Conservancy has been the beneficiary of the Dogfish Dash for over a decade. Over the years, the Dash has raised over $400,000 to help preserve and protect nature in the first state. These “Dash Dollars” are used to enhance preserves throughout the state, provide new information kiosks, bike racks, kestrel boxes, wildflower meadows and trail improvements. Dogfish co-workers are actively involved with TNC, having helped plant over 1,000 trees in the Ponders Tract Reserve, one of two reserves that is just a short ride from the brewery. The latest project TNC and Dogfish are working on is to erect a new kiosk in Memorial Park in downtown Milton that promotes a water trail connecting McCabe Nature Preserve to Milton via the Broadkill River. Together, The Nature Conservancy and Dogfish aim to keep Delaware’s many beautiful parks, trails, and preserves intact and open for public use.
