We brewed Life Before Memes as an homage to a mind-blowing Czech pivo tmave (dark lager) we encountered while in Prague. The brewery we visited has brewed only one beer for more than 500 years – talk about keeping it simple! This beer features a blend of pils, Munich, crystal and de-bittered black malts, and was mashed using a long decoction process for rich malt character. Hopped with only Czech Saaz hops, it's packed with flavor, but is still highly sessionable, with light roasted tones and a slightly sweet finish. It's an uncomplicated beer that hearkens back to times when life was simple.
