Dogfish Head_Blend is a brew drawing on influences from many styles.  A sort of “American Dry Stout”, Head_Blend was brewed with deep roasted malts to lend notes of cocoa and espresso with a deep black hue.  It was then hopped liberally in the kettle with a heady blend of some of Pacific Northwest’s finest hop varieties, and then finally dry hopped in the tank with a blend of Simcoe and Citra.  Fermented with a true German Lager yeast, Head_Blend exhibits a clean profile letting the malt and hops really shine through.  Finally, a portion of the brew was separated from the main batch and soured in an oak barrel before being blended back into the mix.  The result is a deep lush lager with notes of dark cocoa up front followed by a smack of dank citrus and tropical fruit which gives way to a drying roasty acidity.

Dogfish Head_Blend will be tapped on Friday 2/21/14 and will be around as long as it lasts.
