The 2014 annual small batch winner created by Dogfish coworkers Andrew Greeley, Grant Garrity, Matt Barth and Trey Bowden. This Imperial Coffee Porter is named after the pioneer Science teacher Mr. Hector Vargas from the 80’s movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Mr. Hector Vargas ale is brewed with delicious Sanka decaf instant coffee … the same Sanka Mr. Vargas was drinking on the 1st day of school at Ridgemont High. This big porter has a ton of 2 row pale malt, some amber, caramel, wheat, black and chocolate malts to accompany and complement the Sanka. We also added a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg to round it out. Everyone is in Mr. Vargas' class today. Cheers!
