With more than 225 years of collective brewing experience, we’ve connected with our friends at Rodenbach yet again. A beer 2,800 nautical miles in the making, Crimson Cru is a liquid love letter we floated across the Atlantic Ocean … and back.

Deep copper in color, Crimson Cru begins with Rodenbach’s world-renowned Grand Cru, a Flemish red-brown ale aged in oak casks, that made the overseas trek from Belgium to Delaware via tanker ship. After its cross-Atlantic journey, Rodenbach’s Grand Cru was artfully blended with an off-centered red ale we infused with sumac and sweet orange peel that was then dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc hops.

As part of our 2023 Off-Centered Art Series, Crimson Cru boasts a bold packaging design by Natalya Balnova.

For the third installment of Dogfish Head Miami's 2022 tArt Series, this experimental sour lager began with a simple idea - deliver the flavor experience of corn tortilla chips & fresh mango salsa in a beer. We built it up with a corn-heavy grist and then layered fresh salsa ingredients on top.

The can features lively artwork from this year’s selected local artist, Venezuelan-born Alex Izaguirre (also known as MAMÚT), who brings a passion for graphic design that’s strongly linked to music, social justice and use of color to each new beer release.

Our good friend Walt from LNB Grovestand farms hooked us up with some deliciously sweet mamey sapote and we thought it’d be great to feature in a sour brew. Based on the Ode Bruin style of sour ales that come out of East Flanders, albeit without the aging and blending of Belgian brewers, this sour beer is darker, earthier and slightly higher in alcohol content. Life is better with cheddar … which is why we’ve teamed up with our pals at Cabot Creamery in Vermont to create THE perfect beer for pairing with sharp cheddar.

Developed from a sensory perspective alongside the Cabot team, The Perfect Paring is a hazy pale ale that’s unfiltered, hop-forward, and citrusy in the most perfect way.

Speaking of way … or should we say WHEY … The Perfect Pairing has a beautiful hazy golden hue thanks to cultures and upcycled whey – a bi-product of the cheese making process – from our friends at Cabot. These additions help adjust the pH of the wort prior to fermentation, making for a cleaner hop bitterness that enhances the juiciness of the hops. Pretty science-y, huh?

After countless rounds of beer and cheese tastings – it was a tough job, but someone had to do it – we unlocked the perfect cheese pairing for The Perfect Pairing … sharp cheddar. The saltiness of the cheddar accentuates the citrusy-tropical flavors of the beer, while the bitterness of the hops cut the creaminess of the cheese.  

It ain’t easy being cheesy, but it sure is fun … and delicious!

DFH Miami’s first brewery to brewery collaboration! Brewed with our good friends at Creature Comforts brewery located in Athens, GA. This sour ale features Florida-grown guava and a Georgia-grown tea blend from the University of Georgia’s student community farm. Additionally, we incorporated a portion of the wort fermented using Miami kombucha maker Radiate’s SCOBY.
